One of my favourite fruits is mango, especially when my husband peels it and slices it for me. I created this refreshing tropical paradise smoothie recipe not only to feature yummy mangoes, but also to make me feel like I am slurping this healthy and delicious smoothie on an island, far away from work and chores.
It’s a simple and quick smoothie recipe, with only four ingredients. You can add your favourite toppings. I chose pecans and raspberries for more nutrition and more contrasting colors as I like to eat pretty foods, especially when they are so easy to make.
I could eat a smoothie a day every day, that’s how much I love them. What are your favourite smoothie ingredients?
Good To Know
Did you know that pineapple, although it’s prickly on the outside, it’s heart-healthy on the inside? Pineapple is loaded with vitamins and minerals that can give the heart a boost, fiber that can help lower cholesterol and bromelain, an enzyme that can fight inflammation.
Bananas are also heart-healthy. They are packed with potassium that can keep blood pressure in check, fiber and antioxidants that can help lower cholesterol and its negative effects on the heart.
Substitutions
If you don’t have mango, pineapple or banana, you can replace one of them with papaya, guava, kiwi or passion fruit.
Coconut water can be replaced with pineapple or orange juice.

Extra health points
Go nuts with your favourite toppings! And of course, don’t forget to add some nuts as they are rich in nutrients. Today I chose pecans and berries. But you can also add pistachios, kiwi or your favourite nuts and tropical fruits.
Storing and freezing tips
Store
Store in fridge for 24 hours.
Freeze
I don’t like freezing smoothies as I find that they lose some of their flavour, but many people don’t mind it. Freezing smoothies is great for prepping ahead and enjoying them later, so try it out and decide for yourself if freezing is something you enjoy.

Notes
I like to use at least one frozen fruit so the smoothie is instantly cold and ready to enjoy, and I don’t have to wait for it to chill in the fridge.
Vitamix is my favourite blender, but any blender works. It might not blend everything as smoothly as a Vitamix would, but it would still do a good job.
